Journal of a Sailor

Day 1: Kintamani → Darwin

As the sun rises over Kintamani, I pack my bags and head to the airport. Darwin is waiting, and with it, the start of a journey that will take me across the sea to Gili Air.

There’s a particular kind of stillness that hits just before a trip like this — the quiet anticipation of movement, the tension between excitement and calm. Sitting in the car, watching the landscape slip by, I take a moment to breathe it all in.

Sailing isn’t just about miles or navigation; it’s about presence. Even now, before I set foot on the yacht, I can feel the rhythm that awaits me — the gentle rocking, the wind, the open horizon. It’s a rhythm that slows your mind and softens your heart.

I’ll be sharing short updates whenever I’m online, but the real magic happens in these quiet moments — the moments between the starting line and the first mile.

The target? 2,500 miles on yachts up to 500GT² — a stepping stone toward the Yachtmaster Offshore qualification. Captain Julie, reporting for duty! 🌸🦩

One life. One journey. One chance to fully inhabit it. And today, Day 1, is just the beginning.

✨ If you’re ready to slow down, reconnect with your rhythm, and live fully — even amid life’s adventures — step into the circle that supports presence, reflection, and soulful living:
