Simple Swaps for Better Gut Health

A quiet experiment in listening

I’m not on a protocol.
I’m not trying to fix anything.

I’m simply observing — gently — how my body responds when I treat it with a little more care.

Gut health, for me, isn’t about perfection or restriction.
It’s about small, daily choices that create less friction inside the body.
Less inflammation. Less stress. More ease.

Here are a few simple swaps I’ve been experimenting with — nothing dramatic, just consistent.

🥥 Coconut Yogurt Instead of Greek (Daily)

I’ve swapped Greek yogurt for coconut yogurt most days.
Without lactose, digestion feels calmer, less reactive.
No heaviness, no subtle inflammation afterward — just softness.

Sometimes what the body needs isn’t more protein or better macros,
but fewer things it has to fight against.

🫙 Fermented Foods (1–2 Tablespoons Daily)

A small spoon of kimchi, sauerkraut, or kefir — not as a superfood, but as a ritual.

Fermented foods feed beneficial gut bacteria, support immunity, and influence mood in ways we’re only beginning to understand.
I don’t overdo it. I let the dose stay humble.

Consistency over intensity.

☕ Coffee on an Empty Stomach — A Clear No

This one was loud.

Coffee first thing in the morning spikes cortisol, irritates the gut lining, and leaves my energy jagged instead of steady.
So I stopped.

🥬 Beet Stock in the Morning (Most Days)

Instead, I start many mornings with warm beet stock.
It’s grounding, mineral-rich, and supportive of liver and digestion.

The energy it gives is quiet — not borrowed, not forced.

☕ Coffee After Food (Always)

Now, coffee comes after nourishment.
The difference is unmistakable: smoother digestion, calmer nerves, no crash.

Sometimes gut health is less about what you consume,
and more about when and how you do it.

No Rules. Just Relationship.

This isn’t about being “good” or “bad” with food.
It’s about rebuilding trust with the body.

Listening instead of overriding.
Adjusting instead of forcing.
Letting the body teach instead of constantly correcting it.

I’m curious to see how my body changes — not in appearance, but in how it feels to live inside it.

If you’re craving a slower, more intuitive relationship with your body —
one rooted in nourishment, rhythm, and nervous system care —
I’ve created a simple place to begin.
